The Strata Eighteen Farmhouse Oak 155 delivers authentic character with its multi-layer engineered construction. This 18mm thick flooring combines durability with classic farmhouse aesthetics, featuring a lacquered finish for lasting protection.
Installation Guide
Before You Begin:
- Allow planks to acclimatise in the installation room for 48-72 hours
- Ensure subfloor is level, dry, and clean (max 2mm variation over 2m)
- Check moisture levels - concrete subfloors should be below 75% RH
Installation Steps:
- Install appropriate underlay if required
- Start from the longest, straightest wall working left to right
- Use tongue and groove connection - angle plank at 20-25 degrees and press down
- Maintain 10-15mm expansion gap around all edges and fixed objects
- Stagger end joints by at least 300mm between rows
- Cut final row planks to fit, maintaining expansion gap
- Install beading or skirting to cover expansion gaps
Underfloor Heating Compatibility
This flooring is compatible with underfloor heating systems. Ensure heating is switched off 48 hours before installation and gradually increase temperature over 2 weeks after installation. Maximum surface temperature should not exceed 27°C.
Care and Maintenance
- Sweep or vacuum regularly using soft brush attachment
- Clean with a damp (not wet) mop using pH-neutral wood floor cleaner
- Wipe up spills immediately to prevent moisture damage
- Use felt pads under furniture legs
- Avoid dragging heavy furniture across the floor
- Use entrance mats to trap dirt and grit
- Avoid excessive water - never use steam cleaners
